Supervised Consumption Service

The Supervised consumption service is designed to offer and promote recovery from the misuse of a variety of drugs, medication and alcohol. The overall aims of community pharmacy based supervised consumption services are to assist the Service User to:

  • Consume their medication in the dose, manner and frequency agreed with the practitioner;
  • Conform with the wider requirements of their treatment/recovery plan;
  • Reduce drug-related harm;
  • Maintain regular contact with a healthcare professional.
