Protest Activity Across England – Advice From The Local Resilience Forum
August 2024
The Local Resilience Forum offers advice to the public, community groups and businesses though our Community Risk Register, which includes advice on preparing for incidents, and on page 13 specifically references crowded places. https://www.southyorkshire-ca.gov.uk/explore_south-yorkshire-local-resilience-forum
Whilst not relating to protests, Pharmacy teams may find it helpful to work through the national Action Counters Terrorism toolkit online. This has scenarios for marauding attackers, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). It is a very useful resource to test business continuity plans, and is aimed at businesses. https://www.protectuk.police.uk/actinabox

South Yorkshire Police can receive reports of protests through the SYP online reporting portal, or via 101. If a crime is in progress, then members of the public should call 999.
