Stop Smoking Services – Barnsley, Doncaster & Sheffield

Service Overview

The aim of this service is to improve access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) through a voucher scheme, and to Varenicline or Bupropion via a Patient Group Direction (PGD), for all clients registered with an NHS GP in Barnsley, Doncaster, or Sheffield. These treatments will be made available through participating community pharmacies across the three areas.

Signing up to provide the service

Pharmacies wishing to deliver this service must complete the SLA and ensure the following sections are filled in:

    • Page 1: Pharmacy name and address

    • Page 2: Provider details of the signatory

    • Page 3: Sections 5 & 6

    • Page 5: Sections 1.2 & 1.3

Completed agreements should be returned to help.2quit@swyt.nhs.uk no later than 28th November 2025. Pharmacies currently signed up to the service must also complete the updated SLA and indicate which products they are willing to supply.

Payment Process

The pharmacies reports are downloaded from Quit Manager in the two weeks after the end of the month. Once downloaded they are sent for approval and payment. Sheffield and Doncaster payments are via SWYPFT creditor payments team and Barnsley via the SYICB. The aim is that payment will be received within the following month or at the most within 8 weeks by all parties.
