DAISY Project

The Driving Asthma Improvements in South Yorkshire (DAISY) project,  supported by NHS South Yorkshire ICB and AstraZeneca, is running from November 2024 to October 2025, aiming to improve asthma outcomes across selected GP practices. It involves practice-based asthma reviews carried out by clinical pharmacists (from Interface Clinical Services) to reduce overuse of SABA inhalers and promote Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) or Anti-Inflammatory Reliever (AIR) approaches.

Further information about the project, Including a list of the GP practices participating in this project can be found below

Community pharmacy teams should be aware that:

  • Patients from the practices listed in the attached document may have changes in asthma treatment (e.g., ICS/LABA single inhalers).

  • Stock demand may shift for inhalers listed in local asthma guidelines.

  • Some patients may require inhaler technique counselling after their review.
