Minor Eyecare Condition Service (MECS)

The Minor Eyecare Condition Service (MECS) enables patients registered with a GP in one of the four areas in South Yorkshire to access assessment and treatment for a range of common eye conditions through participating opticians. These conditions include red eye, flashes and floaters, eye infections, dry eye, foreign bodies, ocular pain, and other minor eye concerns.

Each area has its own list of participating opticians and specific referral process. Please refer to the individual documents below for details relevant to your locality.
