Special General Meeting (SGM) – Wednesday 29th July 2026

We are pleased to confirm that South Yorkshire pharmacy contractors who participated in the vote unanimously supported the establishment of Community Pharmacy Provider Alliance Ltd (CPPA).

The proposal was formally considered at a Special General Meeting of Community Pharmacy South Yorkshire (CPSY) on Wednesday 29th July 2026. A total of 135 votes were cast in favour, with none against and no abstentions.

CPPA will provide a single contracting vehicle through which South Yorkshire pharmacies can collectively bid for and deliver healthcare services. This will help pharmacies access opportunities that increasingly require contracts to be held by a formal provider organisation.

The company will not replace CPSY or change its role as the representative body for community pharmacy. It will be a private company limited by guarantee, with no shareholders or distribution of profits. Any surplus will be retained and reinvested to support its objectives.

There will be no additional levy for contractors, and CPPA will only pursue opportunities that are financially viable and benefit community pharmacy and the populations we serve.

Following this positive result, CPSY will now instruct its solicitors to incorporate the company, formally appoint the board and establish the agreed governance arrangements. Progress will be reported at each CPSY Committee meeting, and contractors will be kept updated as opportunities develop.
